When Will We Yield To God’s Way?

God’s way is the right way! We think that our self confidence and self image is most important but it is confidence in Christ that matters and having the image of Christ as our image that is of utmost importance. Sometimes God takes us through the detours of life just to have us yield to His way. Many of us have many talents and if He allowed us to depend on our talents, we would never have a need for Him in our lives. Without God directing us we will go astray like the characters in story of the Tower of Babel in the Old Testament. God knows us better than we know our selves and He wants us to yield our carnal nature to Him so that our flesh will be under the Spirit control. The enemy of our soul, the devil, knows how to manipulate the unyielding flesh to do his wicked deeds. Sometimes we only see the short term effects of the actions that we take and to us it looks great but God knows the long term plan of the enemy. God knows how devastating its effect will work out in our lives. He knows that the enemy does not play games, he plays for keeps. We are in need of God’s direction and the only way that we can have Him lead us is when we yield to Him. He is not a dictator that He will force us to yield to Him, we always have a choice and with that choice we have to take responsibility for our decisions. God, has the best...

Loving Christ and Each Other

Life with Christ at the controls requires that we LOVE. It is not optional and it requires a sacrifice of ego and self. Some people are difficult to love and some people requires an abundance of love. When we trust God for our direction, He will direct our path. He will give us the necessary strength to love. Most times we fight for our rights but love requires sacrificing our rights for the sake of love. God is LOVE and He loves unconditionally all the time. We haven’t come close to sacrificing our rights as Christ did. He was accused wrongly of a lot of things and even today He is still accused but you and I have never seen Him stand up for His rights. He is buried in God and so we must be buried with Christ in God. When we have submitted our rights to Him, He then gives us the strength to live a life of love...

Living For Christ in An Upside Down World

Sometimes we wonder what is happening to this world, where will we go or what will we do. We sometimes loose sight of heaven because of the challenges that we face and the many things that we see all around us. If we aren’t careful we can loose hope. We have to look up for our redemption draws near. Our Lord is coming back for His chosen and we have to remain ready for His return. All around us is falling apart. There is no safe haven here on earth because times are just hard. We are hard pressed on every side. God knows how bad things are getting. That is why He left us His peace, His Holy Spirit. Without Him we won’t last. I pray that we will remain steadfast unmovable and always abounding in the Word of God and continue doing His work. All that we can count on is His return. God be with us as we live for Him daily in this...

Waiting On God For Direction

The scripture says “wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart..” It takes the Holy Spirit to strengthen us to wait. We always want to act in our own timing but God does not operate on our schedule, He has His schedule to follow. The great thing about that is that He knows what is the best for us in all things. Sometimes we want to rush ahead of God and sometimes we want to wait way pass the time He wants us to act. It takes the guidance of the Holy Spirit to tell us when is the right time. Our vision is limited to today, this moment. We don’t know the future, not even a second from now. God sees the entire picture of our lives all at once. He isn’t constrained by time as we are but He will not override our will. He will take our yielded wills and make it work to bring Him honor and work out for our best. Sometimes the moments that we experience cause us to wonder if what is happening to us is the best for us but as long as God is directing us, it is the best even if it hurts us. God knows what He is doing. He knows that the fire that we go through is designed to get rid of the things that will not last. He is bring the valuables to the top. The real valuables that is left after the purging will last for all eternity. That is what He is after. We have to...

Above Average As A Christian

Mediocrity! Average! Passing! Just made it! Are these the words that we want to hear for our efforts? It sounds like “lukewarm” and “stagnant.” We have to be above average and over achievers in Christ. We serve an awesome Creator. He is never just anything, that is why He is God. The ultimate standard. The pinnacle of excellence. The “I Am that I Am.” God is our example to strive after. We cannot be God but we can strive after excellence in all that we do and never settle for anything less. We cannot be perfect here on earth but we can live with integrity an excellent life. We have to develop our wills to say no to mediocrity and say yes to excellence. Let our choices be without regrets. Allow our will to be forged for Godliness and holiness in everything that we do. In the end we will hear those anticipated words that we covet to hear from the Lord, “well done thou good and faithful...

Be Courageous Christian

Time and time again I hear people in parting say, “take care.” This morning I was reading an entry by Dr. Shuller and he addressed this same topic. Why should we be careful and not take risks? That is what we are saying when we tell people to be careful. We are to be courageous and attack life with Christ before us. We are to be victorious in our daily journey, never wimping out or taking it easy. Our enemy isn’t taking it easy or careful, so why should we? He is our adversary, our foe, our enemy, never our friend. We must be courageous or we will be defeated in our daily walk. So I say to you and myself, “be strong in the Lord and the power of His might…” Let us remain victorious as we put on Christ...
